Select "Edit | Preferences... | Auto Complete | USER" from the main menu to add your own shortcuts. The "|" character is used to specify the cursor position after inserting the specified code. For example, if you define a shortcut named "<a" and assign the following code to it:
<a href="|"></a>
the cursor will be placed in-between double quotes after auto completing "<a."
If you create a set of auto complete shortcuts that maybe useful to other HTML-Kit users, please consider sharing it. Simply email the USER.HKC file in the "data\default" directory and we will post your shortcut file for others to use.
Always select the "USER" file when adding new auto complete shortcuts. Any changes made to the "DEFAULT" file will be overwritten when installing new builds. Some shortcuts will not work properly when the document is empty. Simply type some text at the top of the document to get around this until the next release.
