HTML-Kit can be used to edit SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language, pronounced
smile) files that are supported by Real Player and other multimedia players. SMIL files generally use
*.smi or
*.smil as the file extension.
First, install one or more
plugins related to SMIL (plugins for inserting tags, looking up help for SMIL, etc.).
To enable syntax highlighting for SMIL files:
- Select "
Edit | Preferences
" from the main menu and change to the "File Types
" tab.
- Click the "
Colorized file types
" button.
- Add ;smi;smil; to the end of the "
HTML, XML
" field.
- Click "
OK
" followed by another "OK
" to save the preferences.
